WHO ARE WE...?

Taupō based duo False Heights and their infectious alt pop/rock bops are well worth keeping tabs on. Members April & Ashley released their latest self-produced EP ‘Too Afraid to Try’ in late 2022, and the project showcases the bands musical prowess and the unique and eclectic sound they create together. If you need a little lyrical reassurance that it's ok to not be ok then False Heights is for you.

With an open genre policy the duo mixes elements of punk, reggae, rock and a huge helping of pure unapologetic pop.  By finding inspiration from bands like The Dresden Dolls, Paramore, Cake, Evanescence and Jimmy Eat World they are creating a timeless and memorable sound.

The band also spends their daylight hours inspiring and encouraging the next generation of New Zealand Music through their music tuition business.

Hailed as Taupo's local up and coming talent by Greenstone Entertainment, the pair played to a crowd of at least 15,000 as they warmed up the stage for rock legends ZZ Top, Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo, Stone Temple Pilots and The Angels in February 2023.

"The duo delivered an enjoyable set of melodic acoustic tunes that kept the growing crowd entertained and tapping their feet. False Heights did a superb job – keeping the crowd both engaged and entertained with a series of their catchy and compelling original songs." - Doug Peters, Ambient Light NZ.

The band also smashed out the end of 2022 by playing a brilliant New Years Eve set at Rhythm & Vines 2022.
